Kevin Durant is raring to plunge back into action after being sidelined with a hamstring injury — and Oklahoma City can’t wait to have him back in the rotation.

According to reports, after missing six games of the Thunders due to a strained left hamstring, Durant will be given the green light to get back on the court anytime soon.

He still missed the Thunder-Mavericks game last Sunday which Oklahoma won, 117-114, people are speculating that he will be cleared either Monday night for their road game against Utah or in their home game against the Brooklyn Net on Wednesday.

Durant sustained the injury in the first half of their win against the Washington Wizards. Following three foot surgeries from last season, this is the first ever hamstring injury of Durant in his entire career. Last season, he was limited to just 27 games due to a string of mishaps.

He was averaging 28.1 points, three assists, and 7.3 rebounds in his eight games this season.

In their six games without Durant, the Thunders are 3-3. Oklahoma guard Russel Westbrook is currently taking charge of the team, averaging 32.7 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.2 steals per game in those six games without their main man.

They currently carry an 8-6 win-loss slate.

It was also reported that Kevin Durant said his hamstring felt way better now.

With Durant going back to the rotation real soon, the Thunders are expected to take a huge step towards the right direction, and that is to rack up more wins and climb up the ladder in the standings.

After the evaluation on his injury, it was first announced that he is only expected to miss around 7-10 days of action, but Thunder management has become cautious of Durant due to his string of foot injuries last season. Thus, the extension happened, and he will only be allowed to play once he’s perfectly fine to set foot on court.
